April 19-21, 2024 - We partnered with founder Maria Davis-Pierre to strengthen marriages and parents on the autism journey. Our session was about how to fortify as a team and build bridges when navigating a child on the autism spectrum. Autism in Black is one of the only Black Neurodivergent Led Virtual Conferences in the United States.

Kwame and Nakia Stringfield moderated a panel discussion as advocates and parents. The panel showcased diverse perspectives of autism, including the moderators who are parents of children on the special needs spectrum. Discussion was held with local Pastors (Senior Pastor Mitchell Summerfield and Associate Pastor Delon Fletcher) plus educators (Dr. Jamie N. Pearson and Kalihah B. Fletcher). The conversation included removing stigmas and providing resources and education for special needs individuals ultimately to change mindsets around autism in the African American community.

In this episode of the Autism in Black Podcast, Maria Davis-Pierre, LMHC, is joined by Nakia and Kwame Stringfield.
